According to his Shipping Record she was CofE and could read and write.

He was buried at the Camperdown Cemetery in Newtown, Sydney, Grave No. 5473. He is buried with his father, also named Benjamin. There is no surviving headstone, and the burial site was part of a section of the cemetery reclaimed to create the Camperdown Cemetery Rest Park in the 1940's
