She was named Isobel in her marriage record and Elizabeth's birth record, and was named Isabella in her death certifcate (which also confirms her parents names).

At the time of the 1841 Census she was living in Dykehead, Shotts.She is recorded as Isobel Laird aged 70, not born in the county. She is living with Alexander Goldie, aged 15, a collier born in the county. This is her grandson, son of her daughter Isobel. A few doors away is a Thomas Forsyth, 25, her son with wife Janet and daughter Marion.

At the time of the 1851 Census she was living with her son Robert Forsyth in Dykehead, Shotts. She is recorded as Isobel Laird, Widow, aged 80, and supported by her family. Her birthplace is recorded as Larbert, Stirlingshire.

The informant on her Death Certificate was her son Livingstone.
