At the time of the 1861 Census Agnes is a 57 year old coal miners widow living at the Aitkenhead Colliery, Bothwell, Lanarkshire. Living with her is son James, unmarried, 17, a coalminer , Thomas, 12, a scholar, daughter Agnes 15. The children are all recorded as born in Old Monkland (differs from 1851 census). ![]() Agnes married Hugh McIntyre, son of Michael McIntyre and Margaret Meikleham, on 31 Oct 1824 in Barony, , Glasgow, , Lanark, Scotland. (Hugh McIntyre was born circa 1806 in Abbey, Renfrew, Scotland and died on 17 Jan 1861 in Nackertons, Bothwell, Lanark, Scotland.). The cause of his death was Chronic bronchitis, 4 years/Anasarca, 3 months. |
