Cause of his death was Chronic bronchitis, 4 years/Anasarca, 3 months. General Notes: In the 1841 Census he is recorded at Old Monkland. The village appears to be Auchinlamin but I can't find any record of this place. Hugh was shown as not born in the county. He had all his children living with him from Helen to William and his wife Agnes. All of them were born in the County. Living next door was Gilbert Brown, believed to be Agnes' brother (see below). Noted events in his life were: • He resided at the time of his marriage on 31 Oct 1824 in Tollcross, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. • He worked as a coalier at the time of his marriage on 31 Oct 1824. • He worked as a coal miner at the time of the census in 1841 in Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland. • He worked as a coal miner at the time of son Robert's marriage on 12 Sep 1856 in Cambusnethan, Lanark, Scotland. Hugh married Agnes Brown, daughter of Gilbert Brown and Ann Lindsay, on 31 Oct 1824 in Barony, , Glasgow, , Lanark, Scotland. (Agnes Brown was born circa 1806 in Barony, , Glasgow, , Lanark, Scotland and died on 14 Jan 1881 in 31 Gladstone St, Burnbank, Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland.). The cause of her death was Bronchitis. |
