DNA links with a couple of Anstiss descendants suggest that our ancestors came from Quainton, Buckinghamshire. There is a record of a William Anstiss baptised 28 July 1771 in Quainton. I'm assuming this is our William for now.
On his marriage record he signed his name but his wife Sarah made her mark.
He was living in the Workhouse when he died.
