  General Notes:

Samuel was the Manager of the Harrietville Star Dredge, which sank not long after his death in 1915. Prior to his death he and his wife Agnes had a house where the Feathertop Chalet now stands. After his death the house was relocated and attached to the back of the Post Office in Harrietville. It was for a time a B&B but is now a private residence. The explosives store that her brother Jim constructed behind the house, when it was his store, is still there.

The Scott and Jones families were very close. Samuel's brother, Robert, successively married two of Samuel's wife Agnes' nieces, Elizabeth and Annie Jones. Elizabeth and Annie were first cousins.
