James Clifford Seaman

  General Notes:

He is recorded as living in Kulin, WA in 1931 - there are some other Seamans living there too. I'm pretty sure it's the same person as he disappears from WA after that and appears in West Wyalong, NSW in 1933, with no more mention in WA electoral rolls.

He was sued for divorce on grounds of desertion in 1934 by his wife Hazel Maud Seaman but curiously the judge decided that it had been a marriage of convenience in order to give the child Hazel was carrying a father's name and there was evidence that she and her mother knew that there was no intention by James to actually set up house, so he couldn't be guilty of desertion. So he didn't agree to the divorce! In 1944 James filed his own petition for Divorce which was filed in Sydney and notified in the WA paper in 1945. At that time he was living in West Wyalong. This would have cleared the way for him to marry Jean in 1953.

In the 1972 electoral roll he is living at 434 Maculey St, Hay, NSW, occupation railway employee. His wife Jean Marie is living at the same address.

James married Hazel Maud Unknown in Western Australia, Australia.

James next married Jean Marie Nelson, daughter of Robert Nelson and Gladys May Sullivan, in 1953 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. (Jean Marie Nelson was born circa 1916, died after 1972 and was buried in Hay Cemetery, Hay, New South Wales, Australia.)
