General Notes: Hugh Morgan was a convict sentenced to Transportation for Life on 29 Mar 1830 for Mare Stealing. His former occupation was a Groom. He arrived in NSW on board the Hercules. He was 19, single, 5' 2/12" tall with a ruddy fair complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. He had a small round mole under the left side of his mouth. He received his Conditional Pardon on 30 September 1847. Hugh married Catherine Keleher, daughter of Michael Keleher ** and Mary Sullivan, in Jul 1839 in St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Sydney, , New South Wales, Australia. (Catherine Keleher was born about 1812 in Mallow, Cork, Munster, Ireland, died on 4 May 1869 in Stanley Lane, Sydney, , New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 6 May 1869 in RC Cemetery, Rookwood, Lidcombe, , New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Disease of Heart 18 months. |
