bullet  General Notes:

His age is recorded as 20 years on his Marriage Certificate, although he would have been 21 almost 22. However, there are no other Thomas Fullerton marriages in the County, and fathers name and occupation is consistent with this being our Thomas. There is a record of a death of a Thomas Fullerton of Bogbaun (Bogbane) on 21 May 1873, aged 42. Whilst the age is out by a few years this may have been our Thomas. The Informant on that death certificate was also named Thomas Fullerton from Bogabane who was present at the death. Perhaps a son (see next paragraph)?

There is a record of a Thomas Fullerton as the tenant of a property in Bogbane Townland in 1860 until 1891. This may have been Thomas and possibly a son in later years. Interestingly the Lessor is one Frederick Hazelton so maybe son Frederick was named after him? Of further interest is that one James Hazelton was a witness to Thomas' brother John's marriage to Elisabeth Newell. Thomas is mentioned in the Will of Frederick Hazleton.

The children I have found so far for Thomas and Sarah, Frederick and Ellen Jane, were born in Coalisland, just a few miles to the north of Killyman. There are likely to be more children to be found, given the marriage was in 1848 and these two were born in 1865 and 1867 respectively.

It is also possible that Thomas had a son, Robert who married Margaret Mays on 25 July 1883 in the Dungannon Registrars Office. Their Marriage record shows Robert's father as Thomas, but no mother's name is recorded. Robert's son John went to Canada, then Alaska, and became a successful Gold Prospector. John's descendants live in the US. Robert was born in about 1859.

There is also a record of the death of an Olivia Fullerton of Bogbaun on 26 October 1867, aged 16 years. She may have been a daughter of Thomas

It was a United Church of Ireland and England ceremony. Witnesses to the Ceremony were Damson Haslet (?) and Alfred Hickey. Both Thomas and Sarah made their mark indicating they could not write.
