Thomas may have been born to Thomas Forsyth & Elizabeth Gourlay 23 Apr 1732 in Falkirk. This is just speculation at this stage, but the year is about right if Elizabeth was born 1734, and Falkirk is in the right area. Two of his children were named Thomas and Elizabeth, but not in the order dictated by Scottish naming convention.

Thomas & Elizabeth Wauch or Waugh are the likely parents of John, given dates and locations. The use of the forename "Livingston" and variants is also a strong indicator as this is an unusual name.

I can find no record of his marriage to Elizabeth Waugh.
