Martha and John had twelve children. Martha died on 11 July 1897 at her residence "Glenthorne" 2 Railway Street Petersham aged 77 and was buried at Rookwood Cemetery with her husband and son George. The Memorial Inscription reads:

Martha married John Robertson, son of Thomas Robertson and Jane Lamont, on 16 May 1842 in Christ Church, St Laurence, Sydney, Australia. (John Robertson was born in 1817 in Tyrone, Ireland, died on 31 Aug 1898 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and was buried in Sep 1898 in Rookwood Cemetery, Lidcombe, New South Wales, Australia.)
