1. William Price Wall

Elizabeth Buckley

  • Born: Abt Oct 1816, Shaw, Lancashire, England
  • Christened: 16 Feb 1901, White Hills Cemetery, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia
  • Marriage (1): William Price Wall on 29 Jan 1833 in St Lukes C Of E, Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia
  • Died: 14 Feb 1901, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia aged about 84

bullet   Cause of her death was Chronic Bronchitis, 3 months.

bullet  General Notes:

Elizabeth and her parents' stories are recounted more fully in Craig's award-winning book - In the Shadow of Feathertop: a history of the Lives and Legacy of George Jones and Margaret Hardie. Read about the book here: http://craig-fullerton.com/product/in-the-shadow-of-feathertop/

Elizabeth had the distinction of having two parents who were convicts.

Her death certificate records her mother's name as Mary Pratt. This would seem to be an error as her father's occupation of "Nail Worker" is consistent with the occupation of James Buckley married to Mary Hitchen whose death certificate records his occupation as "Nailor".

Elizabeth married William Price Wall, son of William Wall and Sarah Price, on 29 Jan 1833 in St Lukes C Of E, Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia. (William Price Wall was born on 31 Jul 1804 in London, Middlesex, England, christened on 21 Oct 1804 in St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, London, England, died on 6 Feb 1890 in Forest St, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia and was buried on 7 Feb 1890 in White Hills Cemetery, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.). The cause of his death was Choleriac Diarrhorea & exhaustion, 6 days.

bullet  Marriage Notes:

Witnesses were Sarah Buckley, the bride's sister, who made her mark and Sarah's future husband, Thomas Pike, both of Liverpool.
