Mary Anne LAWRENCE was buried on 26/1/1926 in Church of England Area, Section A, Grave 418. Her age was given as 83 years; her last address as O.B.A.(Ovens Benevolent Asylum); and the attending clergyman as Rev. Falconer.

Hers is an unmarked grave with three other, unrelated occupants - all male, asylum residents - the first buried in 1878, the other two on the same day in 1934.

(Abraham Lawrence was born in 1826 in Niagara, Ontario, Canada, died on 14 Jun 1883 in Forest St, Sandhurst, now Bendigo, Victoria, Australia and was buried on 17 Jun 1883 in White Hills Cemetery, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.). The cause of his death was Asthma, Serious Apoplexy, 2 years.

It was a Presbyterian ceremony. Witnesses were the brides parents William P. and Elizabeth Wall. Mary Ann made her mark, suggesting she was illiterate.
