Janet Jones

  • Born: 17 Mar 1802, Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland
  • Christened: 25 Mar 1802, Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland
  • Marriage (1): Philip Chamberlain in 1826 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland
  • Died: 18 Oct 1873, 8 Bradfield St, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland at age 71

bullet   Cause of her death was Debility.

bullet   Another name for Janet was Jannet.

bullet  General Notes:

Witnesses at her birth were Alexander Greig (probably her Uncle) and and David Bissel (?).

At the time of the 1841 Census Jannet [sic] was living in St Cuthbert's Edinburgh with her husband Philip and thir family. Philip was aged 35, an Upholsterer. Jannet was recorded as aged 35; son Philip aged 14; daughter Jessie, aged 10; son Florent aged 7; daughter Agnes aged 1; and Agnes Jones, aged 25, occupation F.S. (Farm Servant?). All of them were recorded as born in the County. Agnes Jones is probably Janet's sister although the age doesn't quite match (but nor does Janet's).

bullet  Medical Notes:

Husband Philip was the Informant on her Death Certificate.

Janet married Philip Chamberlain, son of Philip Chamberlain and Agnes Johnston, in 1826 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. (Philip Chamberlain was born circa 1805 and died on 5 Sep 1881 in 12 Tynecastle Terrace, Edinburgh, , Midlothian, Scotland.). The cause of his death was Senile Decay.
