General Notes:
At the time of the 1891 Census William was aged 15, single, a Journeyman Bricklayer, living in a cottage at Quinton, Northamptonshire. He was a boarder in the household of 70 year old agricultural labourer John Cowley and his wife Elizabeth, 68. Also boarding here was 20 year old Eli Rattley, 20, a Bricklayer's labourer.
By 1901, William is living at 14 Elmdale St, Fulham, London. He is recorded as age 28, a bricklayer born in Northampton. While the age is not quite right as he would have been 25, it is corrected in subsequent Censuses. Living with him are his wife Emma, 29, born Notting Hill, London and children Rose,3 and William 1, both born in Fulham, London.
In 1911 they are still living at 14 Elmdale St, although it's recorded as Hammersmith on this form. William, aged 35 is a Bricklayer born in Potterspury. Emma is 39, born North Kensington, London. Rose is 13, William 11 and a new daughter Louisa is 9. All the children were born in Fulham. This census reveals that they have only ever had 3 children and had been married 14 full years.
William married Emma Unknown circa 1897. (Emma Unknown was born circa 1872 in Notting Hill, , Middlesex, England and died 1Q 1959 in Fulham, London, England.)
