Haïm Jacob Ben Oliel

He was a Rabbi. He had a Synagogue at 12,rue d' Austerlitz, Oran.

He emigrated from Morocco towards the end of the war between Spain and Morocco in 1860, along with about 4000 other Jewish people and took up residence in Oran, Algeria. Tetuan was the scene of a major battle between Moroccan and Spanish troops which saw the city fall to Spanish forces in February of 1861. Morocco subsequently sued for peace making major concessions to Spain.

One researcher suggests his second wife was his step-Aunt, half sister of his father, Isaac. They shared the same father (Josua) but different mothers. This seems surprising given she is 26 years younger than her husband..

• He worked as a Debitant de boissons (drink seller) Cantinier (Innkeeper), Cafetier (Cafe proprietor), Commissionairre, Rabbi, and Propriétaire.

Haïm married Aïcha Ben Oliel, daughter of Samuel Ben Oliel and Sultana Kaflon. (Aïcha Ben Oliel was born in 1847-1849 in Oran, , Oran, Algeria, died on 10 Jan 1880 in Oran, , Oran, Algeria and was buried in Jan 1880 in Oran, , Oran, Algeria.)

Haïm next married Dona Abitboul. (Dona Abitboul was born in 1869 in Oran, , Oran, Algeria and died after 1907.)
