Charles Mapstone
Cause of his death was Debility. General Notes: Charles & Rachel and daughter Jane arrived in Sydney from England on the "Layton" on 18 Jan 1838. His occupation was farm artisan, his age 20 years, a native of Chew Stoke Somerset, religion Episcopalian, and could read a little. Noted events in his life were: • He emigrated to Australia according to his Death Certificate about 1837. • He worked as a Labourer according to his Death Certificate. • He worked as a Labourer according to son Alfred's Death Certificate. Charles married Rachel Shearman, daughter of David Shearman and Mary Unknown, on 30 Dec 1835 in Bristol, , Gloucestershire, England. (Rachel Shearman was born on 26 Mar 1815 in Gloucester, England, died on 26 Sep 1875 in Botany St, Redfern, Sydney, New South Wales Australia and was buried on 28 Sep 1875 in CofE Cemetery, Haslems Creek, Sydney, , New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Typhoid Fever 4 days. |
