bullet  General Notes:

On 18 November 1895 he was found guilty of Common Assault and sentenced to imprisonment in Wellington Gaol for 2 months with Hard Labour.

He had 2 Death Certificates indicating he was first buried in Wilcannia NSW on 17 May 1867 "in private ground" and subsequently at Carcoar on 25 May 1868.

There is a Gravestone for him at Carcoar Cemetery (pictured), in the General section (ie not a specific denomination) towards the front. The Inscription reads:

Erected / To / The Memory of / THOMAS McGEORGE / Born July 26 1824 / At Ayrshire Scotland / Died May 16 1867 / at Wilcannia River Darling / Aged 43 Years / Come unto me all ye that / labour and are heavy laden / and I will give you Rest (The biblical quote is not fully visible but an internet search reveals it is Matthew 11:28)

• He worked as a Publican in 1866 in Five-Alls Hotel, Wilcannia, , New South Wales, Australia.

• Reburied: at, 25 May 1868, Carcoar, New South Wales, Australia.

Thomas married Jemima Lydia Hockridge Geake, daughter of Thomas Geake and Peggy Llewellyn, on 15 May 1849 in St Stephens, Bathurst, , New South Wales, Australia. (Jemima Lydia Hockridge Geake was born on 5 Nov 1831 in Exeter, Devonshire, England, died on 16 Mar 1903 in Bourke, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 18 Mar 1903 in Bourke Cemetery, Bourke, , New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Valvular disease of the Heart & Chronic Asthma.

It was a Presbyterian Ceremony. Witnesses were Dinah James and Llewellyn Hockridge (her brother)
