Agnes Gray

   Another name for Agnes was Agnis Gay.

  General Notes:

Agnes was described as from the Parish of Falkirk when she married and the marriage was registered in that Parish also on 19 Oct 1694.

A number of people at Ancestry suggest her parents were Harie Rae and Elspet Strackles in Falkirk. However, no firm evidence is presented and none of her children bear names resembling these. I believe there are two more plausible possibilities: Agnes GAY born to James and Agnis Cuninghame/Agnes Cunninghame and baptised in Falkirk 2 Aug 1673 OR Agnes GRAY born to William and Margaret Young and baptised in Falkirk 2 Nov 1672. As their first born daughter was named Agnes I'm assuming the former couple at this stage.

Witnesses at this baptism were John Cuninghame and James Moir.

Agnes married George Wauch on 8 Oct 1694 in Muiravonside, Stirling, Scotland. (George Wauch was born circa 1673 in prob Scotland.)
