Cause of his death was Tumour on the Liver. General Notes: At the time of the 1861 Census John, a fisherman aged 46, and Margaret, 47, were living in Cockenzie with 3 children - John 21, Peter, 19 (both Fisherman) and George aged 9, a Scholar. Living next door was Marion Horn(e) and her children one of whom, Ann, would grow up to marry Peter. Medical Notes: The Informant was his son George. Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Fisherman at the time of his marriage on 2 Feb 1838 in Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland. • He worked as a Fisherman at the time of son PEter's birth on 23 Aug 1841 in Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland. • He worked as a Fisherman at the time of son Peter's marriage on 2 Jun 1871. John married Margaret Dickson, daughter of John Dickson and Unknown, on 2 Feb 1838 in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland. (Margaret Dickson was born about 1814 in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland and died before 2 Jun 1871.) |
