General Notes: Archibald White & Andrew Hay, Shoemakers, were witnesses at many of the children's births. They were probably workmates of John who was also a Shoemaker. Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Shoemaker at the time of daughter Margaret's birth on 24 Jul 1721 in Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland. • He worked as a Shoemaker at the time of son John's birth on 30 Aug 1725 in Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland. • He worked as a Shoemaker at the time of daughter Christian's birth on 23 Mar 1728 in Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland. • He worked as a Shoemaker at the time of daughter Esther's birth on 14 Feb 1730 in Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland. John married Elizabeth Tennant. (Elizabeth Tennant was born circa 1700 in prob Scotland.) |
