It appears that in 1851 she was living and working as a Servant, aged 16, at the residence of John Roberts, a tailor and draper and his family at 14 Castle Cottage, Bishops Hull, Somerset. She is named as J. Besley, aged 16, born Wiveliscombe.
Jane married Joseph James on 7 Jan 1864 in Saint Pancras, Middlesex, England. (Joseph James was born on 27 Aug 1832 and died in 1899.)
