bullet  General Notes:

There are a couple of burials in the OPRs which could be her. The most likely is a Jean Donaldson 3 January 1849, aged 69 who died of "Old age". This would place the birth year at 1780. The 1841 Census suggests a birth year of 1785. The register records that she is buried 25 feet from the North Wall and 5 feet from the South wall which isn't logical. If the registrar made a mistake and meant 5 feet from the East wall, then she would be buried in the Jones section of the churchyard, very close to her husband who was buried 22 feet from the north wall and 12 feet from the East Wall.

There is only one Jean or Jane Donaldson born in Tranent in the period 1777-1793. She born 19 March 1783 and was the daughter of John Donaldson from Cockenzie and Jean Watson. These are probably her parents.
