Ernest Henry Sheppard
General Notes: Ernest served in trhe 3rd Australian Pioneer Battallion in WW1 in France and the UK from 1916-1919. He embarked on the Wandilla. He suffered a gunshot wound to the ankle in France and spent 6 months recuperating from this injury in the UK. He lied about his age when enlisting in WW2 in 1940, citing a birth year of 1900, 12 years later than it really was. He worked in the accounts department and was based in Albury. Noted events in his life were: • He worked as a Clerk. Ernest married Laurina Clyde Soderblom, daughter of Anders Petter Söderblom and Euphemia Hamilton Cadzow. (Laurina Clyde Soderblom was born on 11 Mar 1906 in Bright, Victoria, Australia and died in 1980 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.). The cause of her death was Cancer. |
