bullet  General Notes:

He was the 9th child born to his parents.

At the time of the 1841 census he is named as "Archabald", aged 25, a Print Cutter, residing in Kilmarnock. Curiously his wife is recorded as "Mary" aged 25. Children are Francis, 7 John,5 and George, 1. George is incorrectly recorded as female.

By 1851 they are recorded at West Netherton, Kilmarnock. Archibald is 34, a Block cutter, born in Kilmarnock. Robina is so named this time, aged 34, born Kilmarnock. Children are Francis, 16, an Apprentice Colour Maker, John, 15, Apprentice Block Cutter, George, 11, a Scholar, Robina, 4 and Henrietta (?), 1 month, all born in Kilmarnock.

In 1861 they are living at 61 Low Glen St, Kilmarnock. Archibald is 45 a Print Cutter, Robina 45, and children George, 21, a Drapers Assistant; Robina, 12, a Handsewer; Henrietta, 10; Agnes, 5; Archibald, 2.

I cannot find records of the children's births before 1855. It is possible they were in a non-confoming church, although there is a record of their marriage...
