In 1930 Louis and Eliza were living with Eliza's mother and brother at 9 Eric St, Lilyfield. Louis was a labourer. They were still there in 1933 & 1936 along with their son Henry, a motor engineer. By 1943 Louis was a Prospector, and Henry was married and they were all still living at 9 Eric St. In 1954, Louis was still a prospector and he and Eliza were still at 9 Eric St. Henry was not by this stage but another son, Frederick Clarkson, a clerk, was living with them.

Louis married Eliza Gray Jones, daughter of Peter Jones and Isabella Frances Croucher, on 15 Apr 1908 in Hillgrove, New South Wales, Australia. (Eliza Gray Jones was born on 4 Dec 1881 in Harrietville, Victoria, Australia, died on 14 Jan 1960 in Parkview Private Hospital, Five Dock, New South Wales, Australia and was buried on 15 Jan 1960 in Rookwood Crematorium, Lidcombe, New South Wales, Australia.). The cause of her death was Cerebral Thrombosis, 1 Day / large Cubital Ulcers, Rheumatoid Arthritis.
