bullet  General Notes:

Witnesses at her Baptism were David Bizzel and Richard White.

Whilst not absolutely certain, I believed she married David Ross. Certainly there is a record of a death for Margaret Jones, widow of David Ross, in Cockenzie which records her age as 56 years in 1849 which is exactly correct. Amazingly, David's birth & baptism record appears immediately after hers on the Parish Register!!

Subsequent note: A DNA match with a descendant of this couple confirms this marriage as the correct one.

Margaret married David Ross, son of David Ross and Alison Brown, on 29 Jan 1814 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. (David Ross was born on 3 Jul 1794 in Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland, christened on 10 Aug 1794 in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland, died on 30 Jun 1832 in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland and was buried on 2 Jul 1832 in Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland.). The cause of his death was Fever.

bullet  Marriage Notes:

David and Margaret were "irregularly married" at Edinburgh and the marriage was "confirmed by the session" at Tranent, their home parish, on 20 March 1814.
